At Holistic Birthing Center NYC, we provide personalized, comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care in a nurturing, spa-like environment. Our expert team of midwives and healthcare professionals are dedicated to supporting your birthing journey, ensuring a safe and empowering experience.

We individualize our care to respect our clients’ informed choices. All aspects of evidence based prenatal care and testing are offered to clients during clinical visits. Clients can decline certain tests, if they desire to. We utilize the shared decision model making between midwife and client when discussing the various testing options.

At HBC NYC, women labor and birth in the positions that feel most comfortable to them. Often women choose an upright position that leverages gravity. Laboring and birthing on hands and knees, kneeling, or squatting are common choices. Our clients eat and drink as they please in labor, as supported by the American College of Nurse Midwives for physiologic birth. IV fluids are reserved for those who benefit from it, and are not given routinely. Women can choose to be mobile during labor. The physiologic process is respected. Women can labor in the shower or birth in the birthing pool. Our fetal monitors are waterproof. Monitoring is done intermittently, not continuously, as per evidence based midwifery practice.During the initial postpartum period, mother and baby are offered skin to skin contact, uninterrupted. Breastfeeding may be initiated then. Our team is dedicated to helping families who choose to breastfeed do so successfully!

We strive to ensure each mother and baby have a safe, rewarding birth journey. Our midwifery team has ready access to consultation with our medical doctors to provide excellent care focused on the well-being of the entire family.

Our spacious, upscale birthing suites are designed for relaxation and mobility during labor. Each birthing room is equipped with up-to-date medical technology and water birth options.
Our prenatal visits are an opportunity for us to get to know each other and connect in a meaningful way. During these visits, we assess both the mother and baby. We offer bloodwork, genetic screening, and ultrasound as part ofroutine care. Our prenatal visits are an important part of building a strong relationship with our clients, learning their individual birth plan, and providing the best clinical care possible. We offer prenatal visits monthly until 28 weeks, every 2-3 weeks until 36 weeks, and then weekly until birth.

For appropriately screened, low-risk women, birth centers offer a safe, evidence-based option for maternity care.
The birth-center model is designed around the understanding that, for most healthy women, labor and birth are normal physiologic processes. Care focuses on protecting that process while continuously assessing the wellbeing of mother and baby and identifying when additional medical care is needed.
Families often choose birth-center care because they value individualized attention, freedom of movement, water immersion, fewer routine interventions, family-centered care, and a peaceful environment.
A birth center is a healthcare facility designed specifically for healthy, low-risk women who desire physiologic birth in a comfortable, non-hospital environment. Our accredited New York birth center combines established safety standards and clinical protocols with an environment intentionally designed to support natural birth.
